Ricardo Izquierdo, MD “I’d like patients to understand all their options and exercise their right to choose the best option surgical knowledge and technology can produce.”

Dr. Ric Izquierdo received his Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University and completed his MD at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. He finished a five-year surgical residency at Loyola University Medical Center and was the first recipient of the John L. Keeley, MD Award, which allowed him to travel and study in Canniesburn, Scotland and Melbourne, Australia, with some of the world’s most respected plastic surgeons. Dr. Izquierdo continued his training with a one-year fellowship at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana and returned to Chicago to be on the full-time faculty at Loyola University Medical Center.

He has authored over 20 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has published one book chapter. He also was awarded the Clinical Research Award by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Izquierdo has served on the Executive Board of the Wellness House, which provides psychosocial support for patients with cancer and their families and has been Chairman of the Program Committee.

Dr. Izquierdo is board-certified in plastic surgery and is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation, the Midwest Association of Plastic Surgeons, the Chicago Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
