Laser Surgery is a great procedure for those looking for permanent results to reduce the look of aging as it can reduce the signs of wrinkles, sunspots, freckles, acne scars, veins and blood vessels.

The carbon dioxide laser can soften skin and smooth out fine wrinkles, layers of damaged skin, minimize facial scars and uneven pigmented areas. The entire face can be treated at once, or only particular areas of interest such as “crow’s feet” around the eyes or the lines around the lips.

Operation	Length of surgery may vary from a few minutes to 1 hour depending on the desired area to be treated. Laser Surgery is performed in our surgical suite in Hinsdale and is usually performed with sedation or general anesthetic by our certified anesthetist.
Recovery	New skin forms in five to 10 days
Healing Time	Five to 10 days. Light exercise can be started at two to three weeks.
Time to return to public eye	Patients typically can go back to work and resume social activities in as little as 10 to 14 days (with makeup)
Actual Results	Complete fading of redness is typically seen in 6 months or less.
Risks	Although unusual, possible burns or injuries such as scarring, abnormal changes in skin color, and viral flare ups (cold sores) can result from laser heat.
